Art Museum of Philadelphia

Recently we have visited Art Musuem of Philadelphia located at the Benjamin Franklin Parkway of Philadelphia. This is one of the ‘must see’ among Philadelphia museums.

For Art lovers it is a fantastic place to visit. This museum has treasures from all corners of the globe from different parts of history. It delights to discover and explore the collections. It will take you to those rich centuries.

The best part is First Sunday of each month: Pay what you wish all day for the entry

There is no need to purchase individual tickets to the museum in advance. Museum Admission includes Main Building, Perulman Building & Rodin Museum.

Exhibitions highlights are 1920’s photographs collections, four decades of modern and contemparary designs in the 20 & 21 centuries and many more galleries like American Art Galleries, Asian Art Galleries, Dutch ceramic galleries, European Art 1500 – 1850 Galleries, Modern & Contemporary Art Galleries, Arms & Armor Galleries, Costume & Textiles Galleries, European Art 1100-1500 Galleries, European Art 1850 – 1900 Galleries, Prints, Paintings, Drawings, & Photographs Galleries and many more.

Rodin Museum is located just a few blocks from main building. In this museum we could see late nineteenth-century French sculptor Auguste Rodin casts of many of his best-known sculptures . Museum’s entrace gate is huge and beautifully crafted. This museum has got a nice park too adjacent to it.

Photography is permitted in most exhibits. Some special exhibits come with restrictions, though, you should honor those restrictions when/where posted.

It will take completely a whole day to enjoy everything and every second worth spending here. The Museum is completely accessible for wheelchairs and scooters. Wear a nice pair of walking shoes while you roam around.

We are very much amazed, excited, surprised and inspired to see the huge collections of so many cultures and exhibits. You won’t forget this journey and you would love visiting this place more than once.
